Bethesda is a growing, independent, evangelical, Bible based, Christ centred church at the heart of the seaside town of Helensburgh, Scotland. We have now opened up our newly expanded building which has been developed in response to the increased membership and range of activities – with a vision of continuing dynamic growth to the glory of God and the blessing of individuals. The new facilities include a café which is successful in being a bridge with the community. The Scottish Parliament recently passed a motion congratulating Bethesda on its community work.

Job Profile

What will the job involve?

We are now looking for a suitable person to join our leadership team to replace our existing full time pastoral elder who will be standing down in coming months, following 16 years of service.

A relevant formal qualification would not necessarily be insisted upon, but it would be essential that the appointee is ‘apt to teach’ (based upon a sound Bible knowledge, with ability to apply and example in his own life).

A copy of our ‘Baptism and Membership’ booklet is available upon request and this sets out the main practices and beliefs held within the church. We expect that the successful applicant will be fully supportive of these.

We would welcome your CV and covering letter of application to;

Ken Newberry
